Parts of the Whole: An Algebra Lesson
This column draws on research of Eon Harper to demonstrate how an understanding of his proposed stages of algebra acquisition would inform a systemic overhaul of algebra education.

Cohomology and deformation of module-algebras [PDF]
An algebraic deformation theory of module-algebras over a bialgebra is constructed. The cases of module-coalgebras, comodule-algebras, and comodule-coalgebras are also considered.

State morphism MV-algebras [PDF]
We present a complete characterization of subdirectly irreducible MV-algebras with internal states (SMV-algebras). This allows us to classify subdirectly irreducible state morphism MV-algebras (SMMV-algebras) and describe single generators of the variety of SMMV-algebras, and show that we have a continuum of varieties of SMMV-algebras.

Cell algebra structure on generalized Schur algebras [PDF]
A cell algebra structure is found for a family of generalized Schur algebras previously studied by the author. This cell algebra structure is then used to construct the irreducible representations of these algebras and to determine when the algebras are quasi-hereditary.

Quantum affine algebras and affine Hecke algebras [PDF]
We describe a connection between finite--dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras and affine Hecke algebras.

Lie-admissible algebras and operads [PDF]
A Lie-admissible algebra gives by anticommutativity a Lie algebra. In this work we study remarkable classes of Lie-admissible algebras such as Vinberg, PreLie algebras. We compute the corresponding binary quadratic operads and study their Koszul duality. Considering Lie algebras as Lie-admissible algebras we can define for each Lie algebra a cohomology
