From START to FINISH: computational analysis of cell cycle control in budding yeast
In the cell division cycle of budding yeast, START refers to a set of tightly linked events that prepare a cell for budding and DNA replication, and FINISH denotes the interrelated events by which the cell exits from mitosis and divides into mother and ...

Parallel Unsmoothed Aggregation Algebraic Multigrid Algorithms on GPUs [PDF]
We design and implement a parallel algebraic multigrid method for isotropic graph Laplacian problems on multicore graphical processing units (GPUs). The proposed AMG method is based on the aggregation framework.

This study evaluates the simulation capabilities of lithium‐ion battery (LIB) electrochemical simulation software packages. The benchmark simulation results reveal the impacts of parameter sensitivity to solver performance and stability. The guidelines to troubleshooting common solver failures at high current rates lowers the steep learning curve to ...

Label‐Free 3D Photoacoustic Imaging of Tumor Organoids for Volumetric Drug Screening
A label‐free organoid photoacoustic imaging (LFOPI) system is developed for precise volumetric drug screening evaluation. As a proof of concept, LFOPI's performance in chemotherapy and immunotherapy drug screening assays are further evaluated. The LFOPI offers unique non‐invasive, label‐free capabilities for tumor organoids, and contributes to the ...

Finiteness conditions on the Ext-algebra of a cycle algebra
AbstractLet A be a finite-dimensional algebra given by quiver and monomial relations. In [E.L. Green, D. Zacharia, Manuscripta Math. 85 (1994) 11–23] we see that the Ext-algebra of A is finitely generated only if all the Ext-algebras of certain cycle algebras overlying A are finitely generated.

An extremely rare type of organic biluminescent emission is reported that consists of delayed emission resulting from both the fluorescence (multi‐resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence) and phosphorescence spectra at room temperature, and the lifetimes of the two processes exhibit opposing dependence with temperature.

Explicit limit cycles of a family of polynomial differential systems
We consider the family of polynomial differential systems $$\displaylines{ x' = x+( \alpha y-\beta x) (ax^2-bxy+ay^2) ^{n}, \cr y' = y-( \beta y+\alpha x) (ax^2-bxy+ay^2) ^{n}, }$$ where a, b, $\alpha $, $\beta $ are real constants and n is ...
