From farms to tables: Quantifying the effect of emissions pricing on Canadian food prices

Abstract We examine the effect of emissions pricing on the cost of Canadian food. We describe emissions pricing policies relevant to the agriculture and food sectors and the differing design details of various provincial systems and the federal Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act.

Using constructed value of information to evaluate research needs in conservation strategy assumptions

Conservation professionals often consider causal assumptions that connect strategic actions to results. Uncertainty in agricultural conservation assumptions was evaluated on three constructed value of information metrics: evidence, relevance, and reducibility. A sub‐set of assumptions was prioritized for learning‐based management.

Abstract Eaton, Kortum, and Kramarz (2011) (EKK) discovered empirical patterns from French manufacturing firms that a baseline firm heterogeneity model could not explain. The authors proposed and estimated a model that closely matches the patterns observed in French data.
