Deep Learning Approaches for Classifying Crack States With Overload and Predicting Fatigue Parameters in a Titanium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study proposes a deep learning approach to evaluate the fatigue crack behavior in metals under overload conditions. Using digital image correlation to capture the strain near crack tips, convolutional neural networks classify crack states as normal, overload, or recovery, and accurately predict fatigue parameters.

Applications of finite field computation to cryptology : extension field arithmetic in public key systems and algebraic attacks on stream ciphers

open access: yes, 2008
In this digital age, cryptography is largely built in computer hardware or software as discrete structures. One of the most useful of these structures is finite fields.

Elementary Abelianp-extensions of algebraic function fields

open access: yesManuscripta Mathematica, 1991
Let \(K\) be a field of characteristic \(p >0\), and let \(F/K\) be an algebraic function field. If \(E/F\) is an elementary abelian Galois extension with Galois group of order \(p^ n\) then \(E\) can be generated over \(F\) by an element \(y\) whose minimal polynomial is of the form \(T^{p^ n}-T-y\).

Pre‐Curved Everting Robots With Embedded Steering Intelligence Fabricated by CO2 Laser Welding

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Design and experimental demonstration of a laser welded growing robot for anatomically guided navigation. The robot follows an aortic arch phantom entering the branchiocephalic branch through steering by design. The figure shows the physical phantom setup, CAD defined weld geometry and full robot eversion.

SiOx‐Based Probabilistic Bits Enabling Invertible Logic Gate for Cryptographic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
To enable lightweight hardware encryption and decryption, a Ti/SiOx/Ti threshold switching device is engineered to generate controllable stochastic oscillations. By tuning the input voltage, the device produces a programmable spike probability governed by intrinsic switching dynamics, enabling probabilistic bits that construct an invertible ...

Two‐Dimensional Flow and Thermal Energy Transfer in Non‐Newtonian Casson–Carreau Ternary Hybrid Nanofluids Over Stationary and Moving Wedge Surfaces With Radiation and Magnetic Field Effects

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Efficient thermal management in advanced industrial systems requires improved heat transfer performance, particularly under non‐Newtonian fluid behavior and complex surface geometries. This study investigates the two‐dimensional flow and heat transfer characteristics of ternary hybrid nanofluids over both stationary and moving wedge surfaces ...

Long‐Range Interactions in Topological Superconducting Systems: A Mini Review

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Long‐range interacting quantum systems are surveyed in this review, with an emphasis on the long‐range topological superconductor and its variants. Long‐range interactions decaying in a power‐law manner can lead to exotic phenomena that finds no analogue in short‐range regimes.

A compatibility criterion for optimal control and information aggregation in hierarchical network systems

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract Large swarms often adopt a hierarchical network structure that incorporates information aggregation. Although this approach offers significant advantages in terms of communication efficiency and computational complexity, it can also lead to degradation due to information constraints.

Model checking probabilistic and stochastic extensions of the pi-calculus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present an implementation of model checking for probabilistic and stochastic extensions of the pi-calculus, a process algebra which supports modelling of concurrency and mobility.

Inflated $G$-extensions for algebraic number fields

open access: yesCzechoslovak Mathematical Journal
In 2018, Legrand and Paran proved a weaker form of the Inverse Galois Problem for all Hilbertian fields and all finite groups: that is, there exist possibly non-Galois extensions over given Hilbertian base field with given finite group as the group of field automorphisms fixing the base field. For $\mathbf Q$ it was proved earlier by M. Fried.
