Scalable Computation of Topological Abstractions for Scalar Data

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Topological data analysis has become an important tool for large scale scalar data analysis and visualization, efficiently extracting the inherent structure and features of interest of the data. However, with growing dataset sizes and complexity, it is increasingly becoming infeasible to compute topological abstractions of interest in serial ...

FaceMamba: Geometry‐Aware Mamba for Efficient Speech‐Driven 3D Facial Animation

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Speech‐driven 3D facial animation plays a pivotal role in immersive digital human applications. Recent works have explored Mamba‐based sequence modeling as an efficient alternative to Transformer, but they often suffer from limited cross‐modal alignment and insufficient control over fine‐grained facial deformations.

A Splitting Architecture for Exact Reduced Coulomb Friction

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Existing approaches to frictional contact dynamics typically either modify the Coulomb law to improve numerical robustness or solve the exact law in a fully coupled monolithic form. However, in its reduced form, exact Coulomb friction can be written as a cone complementarity problem with an augmented velocity, which reveals a natural split ...

Reducing the replication time for structural estimations: A successful replication of “An Anatomy of International Trade” using GPU computing

open access: yesEconomic Inquiry, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 424-440, April 2025.
Abstract Eaton, Kortum, and Kramarz (2011) (EKK) discovered empirical patterns from French manufacturing firms that a baseline firm heterogeneity model could not explain. The authors proposed and estimated a model that closely matches the patterns observed in French data.

Rational Expectations Fools' Bubbles

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We develop a rational, Walrasian model of speculative bubbles inspired by the Kindleberger–Minsky view, which describes bubbles as wave‐like market processes. Touched off by an initial shock, price booms are initially self‐reinforcing but become self‐destructive later when prices surpass fundamental value.
