Space‐Time Smoothness and Parsimony in Covariance Functions
ABSTRACT This paper challenges the trade off between computational efficiency and statistical accuracy within the framework of Gaussian space‐time processes. Under such a framework, the space‐time dependence is completely specified through the space‐time covariance function.

On Generalized Avicenna Numbers
ABSTRACT Avicenna numbers that we define in this paper, are a class of figurate numbers, including icosahedral, octahedral, tetrahedral, dodecahedral, rhombicosidodecahedral numbers and cubes, play a key role in mathematics, physics and various scientific fields.

The effect of concomitant gradient fields on MRI with long readout radial‐based trajectories
Abstract Purpose To demonstrate in theory and practice that concomitant gradient fields (CCGF) can produce substantial imaging artifacts in scans utilizing radial‐based trajectories and to provide strategies to mitigate these effects. Theory and Methods A framework was developed to relate concomitant gradient phase to local point‐spread‐function ...

ABSTRACT The supercritical drive shaft is becoming increasingly popular in helicopter transmission system. Dry friction dampers are specially employed to ensure the supercritical shafts crossing the critical speed safely. Due to design tolerances, manufacturing errors and time‐varying factors, the parameters of the damper are inherently uncertain ...
