Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...

Compute Optimization of Petri Net Controllers Using the Algebraic Method

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
This study attempted to calculate an optimal Petri net supervisor able to respect the control specifications imposed for a flexible manufacturing system. There are several theories around the control synthesis of discrete event systems.

Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

Finitary non-compositional proof systems for ASL in first-order [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In this paper we present finitary proof systems for the deduction of sentences from algebraic specifications inductively defined by specification expresssions in first-order and higher-order logic.

Low‐Power Control Of Resistance Switching Transitions in First‐Order Memristors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Joule losses are a serious concern in modern integrated circuit design. In this regard, minimizing the energy necessary for programming memristors should be handled with care. This manuscript presents an optimal control framework, allowing to derive energy‐efficient programming voltage protocols for resistance switching devices. Following this approach,

Proof assistance for refnement in type theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In this paper, we represent in type theory a proof system for refinement of algebraic specifications. . The representation is not adequate but full because the use of proof obligations to represent side-conditions.

Polynomial tuning of multiparametric combinatorial samplers

open access: yes, 2017
Boltzmann samplers and the recursive method are prominent algorithmic frameworks for the approximate-size and exact-size random generation of large combinatorial structures, such as maps, tilings, RNA sequences or various tree-like structures.

Mapping the Innovation DNA of Agribusiness Firms: A Multi‐Method Analysis of Strategic Capabilities and Performance

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Innovation is essential for competitiveness in agribusiness facing dynamic environments. This study examines how market orientation, marketing, relational, and social capabilities influence innovation performance. Using data from 751 Spanish firms and a multi‐method approach that integrates Structural Equation Modeling (PLS‐SEM), Necessary ...

Algebraic specifications and refinement for component-based development using RAISE

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2002
There are two main activities in Component-Based Development: component development, where we build libraries for general use, and component integration, where we assemble an application from existing components.

AI in chemical engineering: From promise to practice

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) in chemical engineering has moved from promise to practice: physics‐aware (gray‐box) models are gaining traction, reinforcement learning complements model predictive control (MPC), and generative AI powers documentation, digitization, and safety workflows.
