Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Investigation of practical applications of H infinity control theory to the design of control systems for large space structures [PDF]

open access: yes
The applicability of H infinity control theory to the problems of large space structures (LSS) control was investigated. A complete evaluation to any technique as a candidate for large space structure control involves analytical evaluation, algorithmic ...

Random matrix over a DVR and LU factorization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Let R be a discrete valuation ring (DVR) and K be its fraction field. If M is a matrix over R admitting a LU decomposition, it could happen that the entries of the factors L and U do not lie in R, but just in K. Having a good control on the valuations of

Particle Computation: Complexity, Algorithms, and Logic

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate algorithmic control of a large swarm of mobile particles (such as robots, sensors, or building material) that move in a 2D workspace using a global input signal (such as gravity or a magnetic field). We show that a maze of obstacles to the

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Integration of symbolic and algorithmic hardware and software for the automation of space station subsystems [PDF]

open access: yes
Traditional expert systems, such as diagnostic and training systems, interact with users only through a keyboard and screen, and are usually symbolic in nature.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Multicenter exploration of microbial communities in hospital toilets reveals: antibiotic exposure in nosocomial settings selects for Enterococcus over commensal taxa

open access: yesAntimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control
Background Excessive antibiotic utilization in hospital settings catalyzes the emergence and dissemination of multidrug resistant (MDR) bacteria, with sanitary facilities serving as critical vectors for their propagation.
