Composition and Stability of Lead‐Alizarin Red S Chelate
Journal für Praktische Chemie, 1965AbstractThe composition and stability of the red coloured complex of lead‐Alizarin Red S chelate (λmax490mμ) have been determined using the mole ratio method and the slope ratio method. The ratio of lead to Alizarin Red S has been determined to be 1:1. The chelate is stable between pH 5.4 and 8.2. The value of formation constant is 6.0.

The determination of zirconium in mineral rutile with Alizarin red S
The Analyst, 1968A colorimetric procedure has been developed for the determination of the zirconium oxide content of rutile. A fusion with potassium hydrogen difluoride enables the rutile to be brought into solution rapidly and eliminates the task of filtering off silica. The zirconium is separated from the titanium by a phosphate precipitation, but the interference of

The effects of alizarin red S on weight gain and skull growth in the rat
Archives of Oral Biology, 1974Abstract Reliability of conclusions drawn from growth studies combining X-ray cephalometry and vital staining with alizarin red S is dependent on the knowledge of the method errors involved. The significance of the method errors in X-ray cephalometric studies are well known, whereas expressions of method errors in studies using alizarin red S are ...

The Differentiation of Placoid, Ctenoid and Cycloid Scales by Means of Alizarin Red S
Stain Technology, 1946This technic has been used successfully by the author for staining, in situ, the placoid scales of selachians and the smaller forms of cycloid and ctenoid scales of teleosts. Sections of skin are dissected from the ventrum of the specimen, cleaned of fascia and muscle tissue and fixed in a 10% formalin solution.
