Endometrial cancer with an EML4-ALK rearrangement [PDF]
An 85-yr-old woman was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma, endometrioid type. Imaging studies showed a large tumor distending the endometrial canal without evidence of local invasion or extrauterine disease. A hysterectomy was performed, followed by microscopic examination of longitudinal tissue sections.

The molecular detection and clinical significance of ALK rearrangement in selected advanced non-small cell lung cancer: ALK expression provides insights into ALK targeted therapy. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: This study aimed to elucidate clinical significance of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangement in selected advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), to compare the application of different ALK detection methods, and especially ...

Response to erlotinib in a patient with lung adenocarcinoma harbouring the EML4-ALK translocation: A case report. [PDF]
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-associated mortality worldwide, and the mainstay of treatment remains to be personalised therapy. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR-TKIs) have been reported to exert a ...

Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase Immunocytochemistry on Cell-Transferred Cytologic Smears of Lung Adenocarcinoma [PDF]
Background: Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) immunohistochemical staining on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue or cell blocks (CB) has been reported as an effective alternative to fluorescence hybridization in situ (FISH) for the detection of ALK ...

Detection of ALK fusion transcripts in FFPE lung cancer samples by NanoString technology [PDF]
Background: ALK-rearranged lung cancers exhibit specific pathologic and clinical features and are responsive to anti-ALK therapies. Therefore, the detection of ALK-rearrangement is fundamental for personalized lung cancer therapy. Recently, new molecular

AbstractBackgroundALK rearrangement is a very rare subset of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and one of the clinical features in patients is lack of data. Here, we report eight patients diagnosed with SCC of the lung harboring ALK rearrangement.MethodsWe collected primary NSCLC samples at the Beijing Chest Hospital between January 2012 and December 2018 ...
