Fetal Metabolic Alkalosis Resulting from Maternal Vomiting
We describe a pregnant patient with severe compulsive water ingestion and vomiting that lead to metabolic alkalosis and preterm delivery. A 21-year-old patient was hospitalized multiple times throughout pregnancy for symptoms initially thought to be ...

Haematological, Biochemical and Acid-Base Changes in Uraemic Dogs Undergoing Intermittent Haemodialysis (2017-2024). [PDF]
This study investigated the laboratory variables of uraemic crisis dogs undergoing intermittent haemodialysis (IHD). The documented laboratory changes support early therapeutic planning. Acid‐base correction and toxin removal highlight the efficacy of IHD, while the progression of anaemia and hypoalbuminaemia requires continued monitoring.

pH of soul: how does acid-base balance affect our cognition? [PDF]
Respiratory Alkalosis due to changes in sympathetic hyperarousal during pathological emotional states can change our cognitive abilities. This occurs through the effects of Alkalosis upon cerebral vasoconstriction and the amount of ionized calcium in ...

It Is Chloride Depletion Alkalosis, Not Contraction Alkalosis [PDF]
Maintenance of metabolic alkalosis generated by chloride depletion is often attributed to volume contraction. In balance and clearance studies in rats and humans, we showed that chloride repletion in the face of persisting alkali loading, volume contraction, and potassium and sodium depletion completely corrects alkalosis by a renal mechanism.

The effects of NETs on regeneration of various diabetic tissues, and strategies targeting NETs for diabetes tissue regeneration. In the diabetic environment, NETs undergo complex metabolic and immune reprogramming, leading to dynamic changes in antibacterial and proinflammatory functions, and affecting regeneration of multiple systemic tissues.
