Purely predictive method for density, compressibility, and expansivity for hydrocarbon mixtures and diesel and jet fuels up to high temperatures and pressures [PDF]
This study presents a pseudo-component method using the Perturbed-Chain Statistical Associating Fluid Theory to predict density, isothermal compressibility, and the volumetric thermal expansion coefficient (expansivity) of hydrocarbon mixtures and diesel

Entropy scaling based viscosity predictions for hydrocarbon mixtures and diesel fuels up to extreme conditions [PDF]
An entropy scaling based technique using the Perturbed-Chain Statistical Associating Fluid Theory is described for predicting the viscosity of hydrocarbon mixtures and diesel fuels up to high temperatures and high pressures. The compounds found in diesel

Alkane hydroxylase genes in psychrophile genomes and the potential for cold active catalysis. [PDF]
BackgroundPsychrophiles are presumed to play a large role in the catabolism of alkanes and other components of crude oil in natural low temperature environments.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A Note on the Tracing of Herbage Contribution to Grazing Sheep Diet Using Milk and Feces Biomarkers
Milk from grazing ruminants is usually rich in beneficial components for human health, but distinguishing milks sourced from grazing is difficult, and this hinders the valuing of the grazing benefit.

Experimental and modeling study of the low-temperature oxidation of large alkanes [PDF]
This paper presents an experimental and modeling study of the oxidation of large linear akanes (from C10) representative from diesel fuel from low to intermediate temperature (550-1100 K) including the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) zone.

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Factors affecting the extent of branching in fischertropsch synthesis products with iron-based catalysts [PDF]
Branched products are mainly formed during secondary isomerization reactions, and not in the main synthesis reaction itself. The extent of branching is a function of the catalyst formulation. High acidity and a low hydrogenation strength of the catalyst (

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Alteration and release of aliphatic compounds by the polychaete Nereis virens (Sars) experimentally fed with hydrocarbons [PDF]
In the laboratory, marine worms were fed with a mixture of algae and several aliphatic hydrocarbons for 15 days. After ingestion by the worms, 34.9% of hydrocarbons are found in the faeces and only 3.1% accumulated in the gut.
