50GHz Ge waveguide electro-absorption modulator integrated in a 220nm SOI photonics platform [PDF]
We report waveguide-integrated Ge electro-absorption modulators operating at 1615nm wavelength with 3dB bandwidth beyond 50GHz and a capacitance of 10fF, A 2V voltage swing enables 4.6dB DC extinction ratio for 4.1dB insertion ...

Subcarrier modulation in all-optical chaotic communication systems
The enhancement of the encryption properties of chaotic signals generated by a semiconductor laser subject to optical feedback is numerically demonstrated by applying subcarrier modulation. The numerical analysis shows that the message can be very efficiently encrypted when the radio frequency carrier is within the frequency range where the chaos power

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

All-optical phase modulation for integrated interferometric biosensors
We present the theoretical and the experimental implementation of an all-optical phase modulation system in integrated Mach-Zehnder Interferometers to solve the drawbacks related to the periodic nature of the interferometric signal. Sensor phase is tuned by modulating the emission wavelength of low-cost commercial laser diodes by changing their output ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Nonlinear optical response of thermally stable perovskite for near-infrared optical modulator
Metal halide perovskite has generated significant attention due to its high optical absorption coefficient, the tunability of bandgap, and its solution processing properties, all of which have led to a range of applications including solar cells ...

Compact thermally tunable silicon racetrack modulators based on an asymmetric waveguide [PDF]
A compact wavelength-tunable 10-Gb/s silicon racetrack modulator with integrated thermo-optic heater is demonstrated by using a waveguide with an asymmetric cross section, combining the compact footprint of microdisk modulators with the design simplicity

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.
