Sinusitis in patients undergoing allogeneic bone marrow transplantation – a review

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology
Introduction Sinusitis is a common morbidity in general population, however little is known about its occurrence in severely immunocompromised patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Dynamical System Modeling to Simulate Donor T Cell Response to Whole Exome Sequencing-Derived Recipient Peptides Demonstrates Different Alloreactivity Potential In HLA-Matched and Mismatched Donor-Recipient Pairs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Stem cell transplants may be considered as dynamical systems to allow sequence differences across the exomes of the transplant donors and recipients to be used to simulate an alloreactive T cell response. Whole exome sequencing was performed on HLA matched stem cell transplant donor-recipient pairs, and the nucleotide sequence differences translated to

Mesenchymal stem cells and their use as cell replacement therapy and disease modelling tool. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from adult somatic tissues may differentiate in vitro and in vivo into multiple mesodermal tissues including bone, cartilage, adipose tissue, tendon, ligament or even muscle. MSCs preferentially home to damaged tissues where

Allogeneic stem cell transplantation for advanced cutaneous T-cell lymphomas: a study from the French Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation and French Study Group on Cutaneous Lymphomas

open access: yesHaematologica, 2014
The treatment of advanced stage primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas remains challenging. In particular, large-cell transformation of mycosis fungoides is associated with a median overall survival of two years for all stages taken together. Little is known

Lactylation‐Driven NUPR1 Promotes Immunosuppression of Tumor‐Infiltrating Macrophages in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cai et al. report that tumor‐derived lactate induces NUPR1 expression via H3K18 lactylation, which can promote the pro‐tumor M2 macrophage polarization through ERK and JNK signaling pathways. Treatment with NUPR1 selective inhibitor sensitizes synergizes with anti‐PD‐1 therapy in murine preclinical models.

Tumor‐associated macrophages regulate the function of cytotoxic T lymphocyte through PD‐1/PD‐L1 pathway in multiple myeloma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 11, Issue 24, Page 4838-4848, December 2022., 2022
Tumor‐associated macrophages(TAMs) are a vital constituent of the tumor microenvironment and involved in the immunological escape of vicious clonal plasma cells of myeloma patients. Our research shows that CSF1R can regulates the production of TAMs while the PD‐1/PD‐L1 pathway regulates the effect of TAMs on cytotoxic T lymphocyte. It may provide a new

Whole Exome Sequencing to Estimate Alloreactivity Potential Between Donors and Recipients in Stem Cell Transplantation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Whole exome sequencing was performed on HLA-matched stem cell donors and transplant recipients to measure sequence variation contributing to minor histocompatibility antigen differences between the two. A large number of nonsynonymous single nucleotide polymorphisms were identified in each of the nine unique donor-recipient pairs tested. This variation

Sequential anti-cytomegalovirus response monitoring may allow prediction of cytomegalovirus reactivation after allogeneic stem cell transplantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background: Reconstitution of cytomegalovirus-specific CD3+CD8+ T cells (CMV-CTLs) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is necessary to bring cytomegalovirus (CMV) reactivation under control. However, the parameters determining

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for T-cell lymphomas.

open access: yesBlood, 2018
Mature T- and natural killer (NK)-cell neoplasms comprise a group of morphologically, immunophenotypically, molecularly, and clinically heterogeneous disorders with generally unfavorable outcome.

A Compound Screen Based on Isogenic hESC‐Derived β Cell Reveals an Inhibitor Targeting ZnT8‐Mediated Zinc Transportation to Protect Pancreatic β Cell from Stress‐Induced Cell Death

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic β cell loss by cellular stress contributes to diabetes pathogenesis. The study demonstrates that WFS1–ZnT8–zinc axis regulates vicious cycle of zinc transportation and cellular stress in pancreatic β cell. Based on that, the study applies a strategy for compound screening targeting ZnT8 based on human models, and identifies anisomycin, as a ...
