Transplantation of allogeneic peripheral blood stem cells
Stem Cells, 1995Recombinant G-CSF has been given to over 150 normal donors for the collection of allogeneic or syngeneic peripheral blood stem cells (PBSCs). G-CSF was found to be well-tolerated with mild-moderate bone pain, edema and mild thrombocytopenia being the observed side effects.

Immunotherapy by Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation
2007During the past three decades, allogeneic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) has developed from being an experimental therapy in patients with endstage leukemia into a well-established therapy in patients with a range of disorders of the immunohematopoietic system.

Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation
2016Allogeneic bone marrow transplantation has emerged as an appropriate treatment for patients with HIV infection and standard indications for allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. The early experience before combination antiretroviral therapy and modern supportive measures was disappointing.

Nonablative allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
Current Opinion in Oncology, 2001During the past few years there has been an explosion of knowledge in nonablative allogeneic stem cell transplantation. This approach to transplantation relies more on the creation of "immunologic space" for engraftment rather than the more traditional approach of creating "physical space" by the application of either intensive radiation or chemical ...

Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation for Myelodysplastic Syndrome
Seminars in Hematology, 2008Although it is only used to treat a minority of patients with myelodysplastic syndromes, stem cell transplantation (SCT) is the only proven curative treatment for this condition. Because MDS occurs in a population of older adults with significant comorbidities, reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC) regimens have been particularly important in extending ...

Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation
2017Allogeneic stem cell transplantation in malignant diseases has evolved as a treatment option for patients with otherwise incurable diseases. The principle of this treatment is a significant tumor reduction by pretransplant chemotherapy or irradiation and immunological consolidation by various effector cells of the adaptive as well as of the innate ...

Allogeneic stem cell transplantation for Glanzmann thrombasthenia
Pediatric Blood & Cancer, 2008AbstractGlanzmann thrombasthenia (GT) is a rare autosomal recessive bleeding disorder characterized by normal platelet count, but lack of platelet aggregation. The molecular basis is linked to quantitative and/or qualitative abnormalities of the membrane glycoprotein IIb/IIIa complexes. Usually it is associated with mild bleeding but may lead to severe

Allogeneic stem cell transplantation for treatment of immunodeficiency
Springer Seminars in Immunopathology, 2004Primary immunodeficiencies constitute a group of highly complex congenital disorders commonly characterized by an extremely poor prognosis. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has the potential to establish a permanently functioning immune system and represents a curative approach in many of these disorders.

ALLOGENEIC STEM CELL TRANSPLANTATION FOR MULTIPLE MYELOMA
Hematology/Oncology Clinics of North America, 1997High-dose chemotherapy (with or without total body irradiation) followed by allogenic marrow transplantation is curative for some patients with advanced multiple myeloma. A relatively high transplant-related mortality, however, limits the wider application of this approach.
