Effect of Ti-V-Nb-Mo addition on microstructure of high chromium cast iron [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2012
The effects of trace additions of multi-alloying elements (Ti, Nb, V, Mo) on carbides precipitation and as-cast microstructure of eutectic high chromium cast iron containing 2.85wt.%C and 31.0wt.%Cr were investigated from thermodynamic and kinetic ...

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

ALLOY CHEMISTRY OF TRANSITION ELEMENTS

open access: yes, 1962
A review of the structure types in binary alloy sigma , mu , an X phases of transition elements is presented. Information is included on ternary alloys in which the P and R intermediate phases appear also. lt is noted that proceeding from the A-component end, the phases occurring at fixed stoichiometric ratios have structures such as at AaB the Cr/sub ...

Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.
