Almost Automorphic Solutions of Difference Equations [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2009
We study discrete almost automorphic functions (sequences) defined on the set of integers with values in a Banach space X. Given a bounded linear operator T defined on X and a discrete almost automorphic function f(n), we give criteria for the existence ...

Almost sure exponential stability of numerical solutions for stochastic delay differential equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Using techniques based on the continuous and discrete semimartingale convergence theorems, this paper investigates if numerical methods may reproduce the almost sure exponential stability of the exact solutions to stochastic delay differential equations (

Almost sure exponential stability of the Euler–Maruyama approximations for stochastic functional differential equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
By the continuous and discrete nonnegative semimartingale convergence theorems, this paper investigates conditions under which the Euler–Maruyama (EM) approximations of stochastic functional differential equations (SFDEs) can share the almost sure ...

On the local dynamics of polynomial difference equations with fading stochastic perturbations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We examine the stability-instability behaviour of a polynomial difference equa- tion with state-independent, asymptotically fading stochastic perturbations. We find that the set of initial values can be partitioned into a stability region, an instability

Comparative performance for thermoelectric refrigerators with radiative and Newtonian heat transfer laws

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
Models of multi-element thermoelectric refrigerator (TER) with radiative heat transfer law (RHT) and Newtonian heat transfer law (NHT) are established based on finite time thermodynamics.

On Almost Well-Covered Graphs of Girth at Least 6 [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2018
We consider a relaxation of the concept of well-covered graphs, which are graphs with all maximal independent sets of the same size. The extent to which a graph fails to be well-covered can be measured by its independence gap, defined as the difference ...

Almost supplementary difference sets and quaternary sequences with optimal autocorrelation [PDF]

open access: yesCryptography and Communications, 2020
We introduce almost supplementary difference sets (ASDS). For odd m, certain ASDS in Zm that have amicable incidence matrices are equivalent to quaternary sequences of odd length m with optimal autocorrelation. As one consequence, if 2m − 1 is a prime power, or m 1 mod 4 is prime, then ASDS of this kind exist.

Linear Array Thinning Exploiting Almost Difference Sets [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2009
This paper describes a class of linear thinned arrays with predictable and well-behaved sidelobes. The element placement is based on almost difference sets and the array power pattern is forced to pass through N uniformly-spaced values that, although neither equal nor constant as for difference sets, are a-priori known from the knowledge of the ...
