MEASURING AN ALMOST IDEAL DEMAND SYSTEM WITH GENERALIZED FLEXIBLE LEAST SQUARES [PDF]

open access: yes
Structural change in meat consumption has been the focus of many researchers during the last two decades. In this paper we develop a dynamic linear Almost Ideal Demand System (AIDS) model from a cost function that allows for time varying parameters. This

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Estimating the demand for imported green coffee in Saudi Arabia using the Almost Ideal Demand System

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems
IntroductionUnderstanding the demand for imported green coffee in Saudi Arabia is crucial for stakeholders in the coffee trade. This study examines how demand varies by country of origin, focusing on Ethiopia, Brazil, India, and other exporting nations ...

Towards agricultural demand for the main energy carriers in Iran: Application of linear approximate almost ideal demand system (LA-AIDS) analysis

open access: yesJournal of the Saudi Society of Agricultural Sciences, 2020
Due to the necessity of cognizance of demand for the various forms of energy in the agricultural sector in Iran’s economy and considering the effects of price liberalization policies on forms of energy, analysis of the main energy carriers’ demand is ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

The primary demand for oilseeds in South Africa: An error correction linear approximated and almost ideal demand system (ECM-LA/AIDS)

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences, 2015
The paper presents the results of a study that estimated the demand relations for primary oilseeds in South Africa.  The Error Correction version of Linear Approximated Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/AIDS)(ECM-LA/AIDS) were estimated.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
