Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Equi-asymptotically almost periodic functions and applications to functional integral equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article, we introduce the notion of equi-asymptotically almost periodicity, and investigate some properties of equi-asymptotically almost periodic functions. In addition, by applying the results on equi-asymptotically almost periodic functions,

Characterizations of vector-valued weakly almost periodic functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2003
We characterize the weak almost periodicity of a vector-valued, bounded, continuous function. We show that if the range of the function is relatively weakly compact, then the relative weak compactness of its right orbit is equivalent to that of its left ...

Almost periodic solutions of Volterra difference systems

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2017
We study the existence of an almost periodic solution of discrete Volterra systems by means of fixed point theory. Using discrete variant of exponential dichotomy, we provide sufficient conditions for the existence of an almost periodic solution.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Construction of almost periodic sequences with given properties

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2008
We define almost periodic sequences with values in a pseudometric space X and we modify the Bochner definition of almost periodicity so that it remains equivalent with the Bohr definition.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Almost Periodic Time Scales and Almost Periodic Functions on Time Scales [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We propose some new concepts of almost periodic time scales and almost periodic functions on time scales and give some basic properties of these new types of almost periodic time scales and almost periodic functions on time scales.

Almost Periodic Solutions of Differential Equations with Generalized Piecewise Constant Delay

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we investigate differential equations with generalized piecewise constant delay, DEGPCD in short, and establish the existence and stability of a unique almost periodic solution that is exponentially stable.

Almost periodic solution for neutral functional dynamic equations with Stepanov-almost periodic terms on time scales

open access: yes, 2017
We first propose a concept of almost periodic functions in the sense of Stepanov on time scales. Then, we consider a class of neutral functional dynamic equations with Stepanov-almost periodic terms on time scales in a Banach space.
