Synthesis of High Crystalline Al-Doped ZnO Nanopowders from Al 2 [PDF]
High crystalline Al-doped ZnO (AZO) nanopowders were prepared by in-flight treatment of ZnO and Al2O3 in Radio-Frequency (RF) thermal plasma. Micron-sized (~1 μm) ZnO and Al2O3 powders were mixed at Al/Zn ratios of 3.3 and 6.7 at.% and then injected into

Comprehending Metal Particle Combustion: a Path Forward
Abstract The paper discusses the physics required for accurate modeling of metal particle combustion and includes aspects previously neglected. Specifically, three physical phenomena are emphasized: 1) internal boiling on the condensed oxide‐metal interface; 2) condense‐luminescent loss during nano‐oxide formation; and, 3) suppressed heat transfer on ...

Nonlinearity in Memristors for Neuromorphic Dynamic Systems
Herein, the internal nonlinearity and rich dynamics in memristive devices, distinguishing them from static linear circuit elements, which provide vital substrates for building neuromorphic dynamic systems capable of information processing with high efficiency, are discussed. Typical examples of neuromorphic dynamic systems based on nonlinear memristors,

Coagulation of the Ionized Combustion Products in a Dust Flame of Aluminum Particles
The addition‐agent effect of atoms of alkali metals (K, Na, Li, and Cs) and halogens (Cl and I) introduced into the combustion zone of a dust flame of aluminum particles on the average size of Al2O3 nanoparticles is studied. A physical model of coagulation of a monodisperse aerosol is proposed.

Selective Growth of α‐Al2O3 Nanowires and Nanobelts
We report the selective growth of α‐Al2O3 nanowires and nanobelts via a catalyst‐free chemical vapor deposition process under ambient pressure. By controlling the flow rates of the carrier gas, high‐yield production of uniform alumina nanowires with diameter distribution (100 nm–200 nm) was achieved at a high growth rate over 200 μm/hour.
