On the Stability of Hybrid ALOHA

2007 41st Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, 2007
In this paper, we investigate the stability of a general N-user hybrid ALOHA system. Based on the multipacket reception model, the hybrid ALOHA protocol was proposed and the stability region in the case of N = 2 was presented. Utilizing the result for N = 2, in this paper, by means of stochastic dominance and mathematical induction, we find out the ...

Coded Frameless ALOHA

2018 15th Workshop on Positioning, Navigation and Communications (WPNC), 2018
We propose a random access scheme named coded frameless ALOHA to completely eliminate the inherent error floor of the original frameless ALOHA, and show the optimized performance of the system. Coded frameless ALOHA uses erasure correcting codes, and transmitted packets are retrieved by an iterative process between successive interference cancellation ...

Comments on "Diversity ALOHA"

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1984
In a recent paper, a generalization of the slotted ALOHA random access scheme is considered in which a user transmits multiple copies of the same packet. In frequency diversity ALOHA, multiple copies of the same packet are simultaneously transmitted on different channels.

Cooperative-Diversity Slotted ALOHA

Second International Conference on Quality of Service in Heterogeneous Wired/Wireless Networks (QSHINE'05), 2005
We propose a cooperative-diversity technique for ad hoc networks based on the decode-and-forward relaying strategy. We develop a MAC protocol based on slotted ALOHA that allows neighbors of a transmitter to act as relays and forward a packet toward its final destination when the transmission to the intended recipient fails.

On the instability of slotted aloha with capture

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2004
We analyze the stability properties of slotted Aloha with capture for random access over fading channels with infinitely-many users. We assume that each user node knows only its own uplink channel gain, and uses this decentralized channel state information (CSI) to perform power control and/or probability control.

Cooperation and Fairness for Slotted Aloha

Wireless Personal Communications, 2006
Wireless access based on slotted Aloha with selfish users may result in very inefficient use of the system resources. To impose cooperation and fairness in such systems, we propose an optimal pricing strategy, based on which the service provider can regulate the overall network behavior.

ALOHA packet broadcasting

Proceedings of the May 19-22, 1975, national computer conference and exposition on - AFIPS '75, 1975
Packet broadcasting is a technique whereby data is sent from one node in a net to another by attaching address information to the data to form a packet---typically from 30 to 1000 bits in length. The packet is then broadcast over a communication channel which is shared by a large number of nodes in the net; as the packet is received by these nodes the ...
