Vernalization enforces seed dormancy in the agricultural weed Alopecurus myosuroides (Huds.)

Seed Science Research
Seed dormancy is the key factor determining weed emergence patterns in the field. Alopecurus myosuroides (black grass) is a serious cereal weed in Europe that experiences two emergence peaks affecting winter and spring cereals, respectively.

Development of simplex and multiplex RT-qPCR assays for the detection of three cryptic viruses of black-grass (Alopecurus myosuroides).

Journal of Virological Methods, 2021
Simplex and multiplex RT-qPCR assays were developed for Alopecurus myosuroides partitivirus 1 (AMPV1), Alopecurus myosuroides partitivirus 2 (AMPV2) and Alopecurus myosuroides varicosavirus 1 (AMVV1), and compared to the existing conventional PCR assays.

Localized origins of herbicide resistance in Alopecurus myosuroides

Weed Research, 1998
The process of evolution of resistance to acetyl‐coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase)‐inhibiting herbicides was investigated in four distinct patches of Alopecurus myosuroides Huds. (black‐grass) that occur within adjacent fields on a cereal farm in Nottinghamshire, UK.

Seed Production and Retention at Maturity of Blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides) and Silky Windgrass (Apera spica-venti) at Wheat Harvest

Weed science, 2020
Blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.) and silky windgrass [Apera spica-venti (L.) P. Beauv.] are becoming a significant problem in Europe. Due to the development of herbicide-resistant biotypes and unwanted side effects of herbicides, there is a need

Germinability and Seed Biochemical Properties of Susceptible and Non–Target Site Herbicide-Resistant Blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides) Subpopulations Exposed to Abiotic Stresses

Weed science, 2020
Quantifying the level of ecophysiological, biochemical, and agronomical fitness of herbicide-resistant (R) and herbicide-susceptible (S) weeds is useful for understanding the evolutionary development of herbicide resistance, but also for implementing ...

Tilki Kuyruğu (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.)’nda Herbisit Dayanıklılığının Belirlenmesi

2021

Herbicide-resistance to mesosulfuron + iodosulfuron in Alopecurus myosuroides (black-grass).

Communications in agricultural and applied biological sciences, 2009
A formulated mixture of two sulfonylurea herbicides, mesosulfuron and iodosulfuron, combined with the safener mefenpyr-diethyl ('Atlantis') is being used extensively in Europe and there is concern that resistance will evolve in Alopecurus myosuroides (black-grass).
