Vernalization enforces seed dormancy in the agricultural weed Alopecurus myosuroides (Huds.)
Seed Science ResearchSeed dormancy is the key factor determining weed emergence patterns in the field. Alopecurus myosuroides (black grass) is a serious cereal weed in Europe that experiences two emergence peaks affecting winter and spring cereals, respectively.

Localized origins of herbicide resistance in Alopecurus myosuroides
Weed Research, 1998The process of evolution of resistance to acetyl‐coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase)‐inhibiting herbicides was investigated in four distinct patches of Alopecurus myosuroides Huds. (black‐grass) that occur within adjacent fields on a cereal farm in Nottinghamshire, UK.

Herbicide-resistance to mesosulfuron + iodosulfuron in Alopecurus myosuroides (black-grass).
Communications in agricultural and applied biological sciences, 2009A formulated mixture of two sulfonylurea herbicides, mesosulfuron and iodosulfuron, combined with the safener mefenpyr-diethyl ('Atlantis') is being used extensively in Europe and there is concern that resistance will evolve in Alopecurus myosuroides (black-grass).
