Presence and Distribution of Urocortin and its Receptors in the Epididymis of Alpaca (Vicugna pacos). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Urocortin 1 (UCN) is a 40-amino acid peptide belonging to the corticotrophin-releasing hormone (CRH) family. The biological effects of this peptide are modulated by binding two G-coupled receptors named CRH receptor 1 (CRHR1) and CRH receptor 2 (CRHR2 ...

Respiratory Syncytial Virus Under the Lens of Structure: From Prefusion Stabilization to Next‐Generation Immunotherapies

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
This illustration integrates key concepts covered in the review, including high‐risk populations, viral structure, host entry factors, the replication cycle, and licensed antibody‐based prevention strategies. ABSTRACT Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a negative‐sense RNA virus belonging to the genus Orthopneumovirus within the family Pneumoviridae.

Turduckening black holes: an analytical and computational study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We provide a detailed analysis of several aspects of the turduckening technique for evolving black holes. At the analytical level we study the constraint propagation for a general family of BSSN-type formulation of Einstein's field equations and identify

Reduced Dietary Protein Induces Changes in the Dental Proteome

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part B: Molecular and Developmental Evolution, EarlyView.
Low dietary protein (10%) from normal (20%) does change protein expression in tooth proteome and alter developmental pathways. Among the significant protein expressions changes are actin‐based myosins, tooth, and bone development proteins. Perplexingly tooth size is not altered, suggesting more nuanced phenotypic response to low dietary protein in ...

Quad‐SPIM: A High‐Speed, Multi‐Color Light‐Sheet Microscope for 3D Imaging of Large Cleared Human Brain Tissues

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A high‐speed, multi‐color light‐sheet microscope, named quad‐SPIM, enables rapid three dimensional (3D) imaging of large cleared human brain samples with simultaneous four‐channel acquisition. This custom‐built system achieves subcellular resolution across centimeter‐scale volumes, maintaining high image quality.
