THE EFFECT OF NaOH CONCENTRATION IN DELIGNIFICATION PROCESS ON MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE FROM GREEN ALGAE (Cladophora sp.) AS THE RENEWABLE MARINE PRODUCT

open access: yesJurnal Farmasi Sains dan Komunitas, 2018
Research on marine natural resources as an excipient material of pharmaceutical product is still rare. One of the marine products is the green algae, Cladophora sp. High cellulose content causes Cladophora sp. which can be used as an alternative material

SACCHARIFICATION OF CORNCOB USING CELLULOLYTIC BACTERIA FOR BIOETHANOL PRODUCTION

open access: yesBiotropia: The Southeast Asian Journal of Tropical Biology
The use of cellulose degrading enzyme (cellulases) for hydrolysis of lignocellulosic material is a part of bioethanol production process.  In this experiment,  delignified corncob,  its cellulose fraction and alpha cellulose were used as substrates ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Carboxylic‐Acid Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube‐Alkane‐Based Resistive Temperature Sensor for Cold Chain Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...
