A magnet system for the suppression of conversion electrons in alpha spectrometry
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2014A new magnet system has been designed and constructed to reduce coincidence effects between alpha particles and conversion electrons in high-resolution alpha-particle spectrometry. By means of a magnetic field, the conversion electrons are deflected away from the PIPS(®) detector. Compared to existing magnet systems, the new system is not restricted to

Electrodeposition of actinides for alpha-spectrometry
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 1999The electrodeposition of the actinides U, Th, Pu, Am, and Cm on stainless steel disks was studied. A sodium hydrogen sulphate — sodium sulphate buffer 0.63M in total sulphate and a ratio sodium hydrogen sulphate to total sulphate ranging from 0.16 (pH 1.8) to 0.48 (pH 1.3) allows the quantitative electrodeposition of the given actinides.
