EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Isoorotamide-based peptide nucleic acid nucleobases with extended linkers aimed at distal base recognition of adenosine in double helical RNA

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
Non-coding ribonucleic acid (RNA) impacts many biological processes; however, the complexities of its many roles are not completely understood. Therefore, designing tools for molecular recognition is of paramount importance.

Aesthetics, illusion of success and age interactions: disentangling effects in the closed-loop design with sham neurofeedback training

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience
This study examined the influence of the aesthetics of visual feedback stimuli in neurofeedback training (NFB). Previous research shows a lack of specific design standards in NFB research and its application.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The Mortality, Clinical Course and Vaccine Status of COVID-19 Patients with Different SARS-Cov-2 Variants

open access: yesAhi Evran Medical Journal
Purpose: Several SARS-CoV-2 variants have emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic and alpha, beta, and delta variants were declared as variants of concern. Our aim is to determine the clinical course and vaccine status of COVID-19 patients with alpha, beta,

Information Theoretic Inequalities as Bounds in Superconformal Field Theory

open access: yes, 2017
An information theoretic approach to bounds in superconformal field theories is proposed. It is proved that the supersymmetric R\'enyi entropy $\bar S_\alpha$ is a monotonically decreasing function of $\alpha$ and $(\alpha-1)\bar S_\alpha$ is a concave ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Existence of infinitely many solutions for the fractional Schr\"odinger- Maxwell equations

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, by using variational methods and critical point theory, we shall mainly study the existence of infinitely many solutions for the following fractional Schr\"odinger-Maxwell equations $$( -\Delta )^{\alpha} u+V(x)u+\phi u=f(x,u), \hbox{in } \

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.
