Effect of Silicon on Machinability in AlSi6, AlSi12 and AlSi18 Alloys
Silicon, 2023In this study, Al-Si alloys containing 6%, 12%, and 18% silicon by weight were produced using the permanent mold casting method. The samples were examined microstructurally, hardness and tensile tests were conducted. Furthermore, the machinability characteristics of the samples were investigated.

Preparation and properties of foamable Ni-GNP/AlSi12 Precursor Materials
Kastamonu University Journal of Engineering and SciencesIn this study, nickel-coated graphene nanoplatelets reinforced AlSi12 precursor materials were produced by powder metallurgy method. For this process, Ni-GNP particles were added to the matrix material AlSi12 powders at different ratios (0%, 0.4%, 0.8% and 1.2% by weight).

The Production and Subsequent Selective Laser Melting of AlSi12 Powder
Solid State Phenomena, 2017The paper studies the atomization of Al-based alloy AlSi12 in gas jet. Air was used as a spraying gas. The size and shape of powder particles were studied by using scanning electron microscopy and optical granulomorphometer. The obtained powder was used in selective laser melting.

Mechanical properties of electron-beam-melted AlSi12 surface layers
Journal of Materials Science, 1990The melting parameters for an AlSi12 alloy, which lead to surface-melted layers with constant melting depth and smooth surface have been discovered using the electron beam melting technique. The main mechanical properties of the melted layer were determined with different testing methods, which were adapted for this specific use.

An Artificial Neural Network Approach to Predict the Properties of AlSi12 Alloy
