Degradation and Fragmentation Effects on Structural Complexity in West‐African Forest Patches
Biotropica, Volume 57, Issue 2, March 2025.We use a terrestrial laser scanner in the forests of Togo, Benin, Nigeria, and Cameroon. Edge effects, such as reduced stand structural complexity, are pronounced in isolated forest patches with low connectivity. Structural complexity below the ecological reference indicates forest degradation.
