First Report of Alternaria Brown Spot of Citrus Caused by Alternaria alternata in Peru

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2006
Alternaria brown spot, caused by Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler, causes leaf, twig, and fruit lesions and reduces yield and fruit quality of many tangerines (Citrus reticulata Blanco) and their hybrids (3). In 2003, characteristic symptoms of brown spot were observed on young leaves and fruit of ‘Minneola’ tangelo in the Satipo Province of Peru ...

Alternaria diseases of citrus - Novel pathosystems

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2003
Citrus is affected by four diseases caused by Alternaria spp. Brown spot of tangerines, leaf spot of rough lemon, postharvest black rot of fruit occur widely in citrus areas of the world and are caused by different pathotypes of A. alternata.

Endopolygalacturonase Is Essential for Citrus Black Rot Caused byAlternaria citribut Not Brown Spot Caused byAlternaria alternata [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions®, 2001
Alternaria citri, the cause of Alternaria black rot, and Alternaria alternata rough lemon pathotype, the cause of Alternaria brown spot, are morphologically indistinguishable pathogens of citrus: one causes rot by macerating tissues and the other causes necrotic spots by producing a host-selective toxin.

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Moroccan Isolates Belong to Alternaria spp. Causing Black Rot and Brown Spot in Citrus

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics, 2021
Alternaria alternata is one of the most important fungi causing various diseases on citrus worldwide. In Morocco, Alternaria black rot (ABR) and Alternaria brown spot (ABS) are two major diseases causing serious losses in commercial cultivars of citrus ...

First Report of Alternaria Brown Spot of Minneola Tangelo in Turkey [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Disease, 1997
Minneola tangelo, a hybrid of Dancy tangerine and Duncan grapefruit, is widely grown in Turkey for export to Europe. In 1995, 2,000 ha of diseased Minneola tangelo trees were observed in the Cukurova region. Ninety percent of orchards in this region were diseased but disease severity depended upon the location and the disease control strategies ...

Differential transcriptome analysis of different resistant citrus varieties infected with wild-type and toxin synthesis-impaired strains causing Alternaria brown spot

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2023
To investigate the differences in the response of citrus varieties with different resistances to Alternaria citri toxin (ACT) during interaction with the Alternaria alternata pathotype tangerine causing Alternaria brown spot, we inoculated the wild-type ...

Aloe vera in Food Preservation: Harnessing Bioactive Constituents for Clean‐Label Innovation and Safety Assurance

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Aloe vera‐derived biopolymers and nanoformulations enhance antimicrobial, antioxidant, and barrier functions in clean‐label edible coatings and films, whereas safety‐critical anthraquinone thresholds and regulatory constraints shape their translational potential.

How does leaf age affect performance? A comparative study of essential oils from young and mature Eucalyptus globulus leaves in crop protection

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Leaf age influences metabolomic profiling but not bioactivity of Eucalyptus globulus essential oils. Leaf age affects volatile levels of young and adult E. globulus oils, but not their bioactivity. Young leaf essential oil had higher contents of α‐ and β‐pinene. AEEO had higher levels of 1,8‐cineole and trans‐pinocarveol.

First Report of Alternaria Brown Spot of Citrus Caused by Alternaria alternata in Yunnan Province, China

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2010
Brown spot of citrus is considered a major problem on the fruit of many citrus cultivars grown for fresh markets including tangerines (Citrus reticulata) and their hybrids. It causes lesions on leaves, stems, and fruit and reduces yield and fruit quality (2).
