Ultrastructure of Melanin Formation in Curvularia sp., Alternaria sp., and Drechslera Sorokiniana
Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1977(+)-Scytalone [3,4-dihydro-3,6,8-trihydroxy-l-(2Hj-naphthalenone] and 1,8-di- hydroxynaphthalene (DHN) have been proposed as intermediates of melanin synthesis in the fungiVerticillium dahliae(1, 2, 3, 4) andThielaviopsis basicola(4, 5). Scytalone is enzymatically dehydrated byV.

A new perylenequinone from a halotolerant fungus, Alternaria sp. M6
Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines, 2012To study the metabolites of a halotolerant fungus Alternaria sp. M6.The metabolites were isolated and purified by various chromatographic techniques. Their structures were determined on the basis of physical properties and spectroscopic data.Nine compounds were isolated and identified as 8β-chloro-3, 6aα, 7β, 9β, 10-pentahydroxy-9, 8, 7, 6a ...

Alternaria brasiliensis sp. nov., a leaf pathogen on Phaseolus vulgaris
Mycopathologia, 2001Alternaria brasiliensis sp. nov., was isolated from leaves of common bean, Phaseolus vulgaris L., showing punctiform non concentric leaf spots of brown color. Besides the symptomatological differences, the new Alternaria species presents distinct type of arrangement of conidia chain, body and beak size.

Aromatic polyketides from a caterpillar associated Alternaria sp.
Tetrahedron Letters, 2017Five new aromatic polyketides, alternaphenols A-E (1-5), and two known compounds (6-7) were isolated from a liquid culture of Alternaria sp. (strain no. NF2198), a caterpillar associated fungus. Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis and single crystal X-ray crystallography. Compounds 1-7 were evaluated for their cytotoxic

Biphenyl metabolites from the patchouli endophytic fungus Alternaria sp. PfuH1
Fitoterapia, 2020Patchouli is a tropical medicinal and spice crop with high economic value, and the endophytic microorganism is also one of its important components and can provide new active compounds with medicinal use. In the present study, four new biphenyl compounds named 3-O-demethylaltenuisol (1), (-)-dialtenuisol (5) and (+)-dialtenuisol (6), and altertoxin VII

Cytotoxic Meroterpenoids from the Fungus Alternaria sp. JJY‐32
Chemistry & Biodiversity, 2020AbstractTwo new meroterpenoids, tricycloalternarenes X and Y, together with one known meroterpenoid, tricycloalternarene I, were isolated from the fungus Alternaria sp. JJY‐32. The structures including absolute configurations were established by the comprehensive spectroscopic data, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectral analyses, and ...

Chrodrimanins U and V, meroterpenoids from an Alternaria sp.
Natural Product ResearchTwo new meroterpenoids, chrodrimanins U and V (1 and 2), and two known compounds 3-hydroxypentacecilide A (3) and chrodrimanin T (4) were obtained from the ascomycete fungus Alternaria sp. Structural characterisation was achieved through integrated spectroscopic techniques. The absolute configuration of each new meroterpenoid (1 and 2) was assigned via

Susceptibility of sunflower breeding material to Alternaria sp.
2012In Croatia the leaf and stem spot disease caused by Alternaria species is considered as a disease associated with senescent plants and of minor importance. During 2008, 2009 and 2010 year Alternaria sp. isolated in a higher percentage on all sunflower growing location in areas of Eastern Croatia.
