An Alternating Direction Multiplier Method for the Inversion of FDEM Data
AbstractIn this paper, we focus on the numerical solution of nonlinear inverse problems in applied geophysics. Our aim is to reconstruct the structure of the soil, i.e., either its electrical conductivity or the magnetic permeability distribution, by inverting frequency domain electromagnetic data.

Abstract In cryogenic CO2 desublimation systems where phase change dominates both heat transfer and separation, conventional lumped thermal‐resistance treatments embed interfacial latent heat into an overall heat‐transfer coefficient, obscuring how phase‐change heat is partitioned between the gas phase and the coolant and limiting diagnostic insight ...

A Unifying Approach to Self‐Organizing Systems Interacting via Conservation Laws
The article develops a unified way to model and analyze self‐organizing systems whose interactions are constrained by conservation laws. It represents physical/biological/engineered networks as graphs and builds projection operators (from incidence/cycle structure) that enforce those constraints and decompose network variables into constrained versus ...

Trajectory of Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers and Adaptive Acceleration
The alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is one of the most widely used first-order optimisation methods in the literature owing to its simplicity, flexibility and efficiency. Over the years, numerous efforts are made to improve the performance of the method, such as the inertial technique. By studying the geometric properties of ADMM, we
