Mean-semivariance behavior (II): The D-CAPM [PDF]
For over 30 years academics and practitioners have been debating the merits of the CAPM. One of the characteristics of this model is that it measures risk by beta, which follows from an equilibrium in which investors display mean-variance behavior.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Alternating Copolymers of beta-Alkoxystyrenes and N-Phenylmaleimide
Alternating copolymers of beta-alkoxystyrenes (I) and N phenylmaleimide (NPMI) were prepared by free-radical initiated polymerization in bulk or in toluene as solvent. The equilibrium constants of I (R = Et and sec-Bu) and NPMI were determined by the transformed Benessi-Hildebrand NMR method in CDC13, and it was found that the bulkiness of alkyl group ...

Alternatives for beet (Beta vulgaris L.) leaves revalorization
Red beet plants (Beta vulgaris L.) are widely cultivated for the consumption of their roots, generating considerable amounts of byproducts. In particular, beet leaves represent about 50% of the whole plant’s weight and are usually discarded by the producer or the consumer. This practice reduces significantly the efficiency of the production process and

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...
