A Review of Metallic Bipolar Plates for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells: Materials and Fabrication Methods

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2012
The proton exchange membrane fuel cell offers an exceptional potential for a clean, efficient, and reliable power source. The bipolar plate is a key component in this device, as it connects each cell electrically, supplies reactant gases to both anode ...

Scattering below critical energy for the radial 4D Yang-Mills equation and for the 2D corotational wave map system

open access: yes, 2007
We describe the asymptotic behavior as time goes to infinity of solutions of the 2 dimensional corotational wave map system and of solutions to the 4 dimensional, radially symmetric Yang-Mills equation, in the critical energy space, with data of energy ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Contribution of Bergama Wind Power Plants to Turkey’s General Energy Consumption [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Wind energy has a 10.4% share of the 326.3 TWh electrical energy consumed in Turkey in 2023, and this study focuses on this percentage. More specifically, it considered the power of seven wind energy power plants in Izmir’s Bergama district in this ...

The time-inconsistency of alternative energy policy [PDF]

open access: yes
Time-inconsistency can arise when a government attempts to convince private sector to use a particular alternative energy (gas, green electricity...) rather than petroleum products.
