Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Monetary policy and alternative measures of inflation: empirical evidence for the UK
The issue of which measure of inflation ought to be targeted by policymakers has been extensively analysed, but the equally important issue of which inflation rate is actually targeted by policymakers in practice has been given much less attention.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Alternative tests and measures for between-study inconsistency in meta-analysis
Meta-analysis is a widely used method for synthesizing results from multiple studies across diverse fields. A central challenge in meta-analysis is assessing between-study inconsistency, which can arise from differences in study populations ...

Do alternative measures of government result in alternative explanations for government size? [PDF]
This note extends the work of Borcherding, Ferris and Garzoni (2003) on government size by considering how traditional tests respond to alternative definitions of government size.

Different measures of fear of crime and survey measurement error [PDF]
The measurement of fear of crime is acknowledged as a hot methodological issue. Many studies have focused on the cognitive and behavioural components of fear.
