IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Passenger-Oriented Enhanced Metrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report on a project building the first European ATM simulation combining flight and passenger trip data. New propagation-centric and passenger-centric performance metrics are described. The new metrics will be compared with existing, classical metrics,

Alternative Metric-Clock Cosmology

open access: yes
This alternative cosmological model proposes a reinterpretation of the universe's apparent expansion by introducing a variable Planck length that decreases over time. Rather than attributing redshift solely to metric expansion, the model suggests that fundamental units of measurement evolve, which results in an apparent cosmological expansion when ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

On series with alternating signs in the Euclidean metric

open access: yes, 1999
Series of the form \[ \sum_{n=1}^\infty(-1)^{a_n} b_n\tag{1} \] are studied, where \((a_n)_1^\infty\in \{0,1\}^{\mathbb{N}}\), \(b_n\) are elements of a real Hilbert space. Mainly the structure of the sets \(C= \{(a_n)_1^\infty\in \{0,1\}^{\mathbb{N}}\): (1) converges\}, \(B= \{(a_n)_1^\infty\in \{0, 1\}^{\mathbb{N}}\): (1) is bounded\} are ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

QUALITY METRICS FOR IT PROJECT MANAGEMENT [PDF]

open access: yes
Using metrics and indicators for the evaluation of the IT projects management have the advantage of providing rigorous details about the required effort and the boundaries of the IT deliverables. There are some disadvantages, as well, due to the fact the

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
