Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Dust Growth in ALMA Rings. II. Dusty Rossby Wave Instability

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Annular substructures serve as ideal venues for planetesimal formation. In this series, we investigate the linear stage of dust growth within rings. The first paper in this series examines the global streaming instability, while this study focuses on the

Triviality of outer derivations in lp(G) for one class of groups

open access: yesСовременная математика: Фундаментальные направления
In this paper, we study derivations in group rings completed by various types of norms. The main attention is paid to the class of groups in which conjugations act in a controlled manner in some sense.

17-Hydroxy-1,8-dimethyl-17-azapentacyclo[6.6.5.02,7.09,14.015,19]nonadeca-2,4,6,9(14),10,12-hexaene-16,18-dione

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2012
In the title compound, C20H17NO3 (alternative name: N-hydroxy-9,10-dimethyl-9,10-ethanoanthracene-11,12-dicarboximide), the rigid ethanoanthracene-dicarboximide moiety has a roof-shaped geometry, the interplanar angle between the two terminal phenyl ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF TWO STRAIN GAUGES TO MEASURE UPPER-BODY RELATIVE STRENGTH IN GYMNASTICS STILL RINGSGTH IN GYMNASTICS STILL RINGS

open access: yesScience of Gymnastics Journal
The still rings routine has evolved over the last century, emphasizing increasing strength. What is paramount is not absolute but relative strength, as each gymnast hangs from the still rings and must overcome the effect of gravity on their body using ...

A Novel and Chemoselective Process of N-Alkylation of Aromatic Nitrogen Compounds Using Quaternary Ammonium Salts as Starting Material

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2017
The process of N-alkylation of several pyrroles, indoles, and derivative heterocycles is herein described, using quaternary ammonium salts as the source of an alkylating agent.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
