Minimally nonassociative Moufang loops with a unique nonidentity commutator are ring alternative [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
summary:We investigate finite Moufang loops with a unique nonidentity commutator which are not associative, but all of whose proper subloops are associative. Curiously, perhaps, such loops turn out to be ``ring alternative'', in the sense that their loop

Tits alternatives for graph products

open access: yes, 2015
We discuss various types of Tits Alternative for subgroups of graph products of groups, and prove that, under some natural conditions, a graph product of groups satisfies a given form of Tits Alternative if and only if each vertex group satisfies this ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Mock-Up Test of Cast-in-Place Tunnel Lining for TBM Method

open access: yesInfrastructures
Segmental tunnel linings represent a conventional method commonly employed in tunnel boring machine (TBM) operations. However, this approach presents notable limitations, including handling challenges and the presence of numerous joints prone to leakage.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Right alternative rings

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1975
A number of papers have appeared with the purpose of generalizing Albert’s long-standing result [l, 21 that a simple right alternative algebra of finite dimension over a field of characteristic f2 that has a unit element e and an idempotent c # e is necessarily alternative.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting
