Clinical and Biological Features of Response in Resistant Neuroblastoma to 131I‐Metaiodobenzylguanidine Radiotherapy in the Anti‐GD2 Immunotherapy Era

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Hospitalization Through Families’ Eyes: Comparing Inpatient Care Quality for Children With Sickle Cell Disease and Cystic Fibrosis in Canada

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

Alternators of a right alternative algebra [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1978
We show that in any right alternative algebra, the additive span of the alternators is nearly an ideal. We give an easy test to use to determine if a given set of additional identities will imply that the span of the alternators is an ideal. We apply our technique to the class of right alternative algebras satisfying the condition

Serological Benefit of SARS‐CoV‐2 Vaccination Relative to Infection in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

Deep Sequencing of FLT3‐ITD Enables Response Evaluation and Post‐Treatment Monitoring in Childhood AML: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

Is the possibility of replacing seed dressings containing neonicotinoids with other means of protection viable in major Polish agricultural crops?

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection Research, 2015
Following the limitations regarding the use of the neonicotinoids: clothianidin, thiamethoxam and imidacloprid there are no currently available insecticide seed dressings for oilseed rape in Poland.

Alternating, private alternating, and quantum alternating realtime automata

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2019
We present new results on realtime alternating, private alternating, and quantum alternating automaton models. Firstly, we show that the emptiness problem for alternating one-counter automata on unary alphabets is undecidable. Then, we present two equivalent definitions of realtime private alternating finite automata (PAFAs). We show that the emptiness

Claudin‐6 Protein Expression in Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumors Is Strongly Enriched in the Molecular Subgroup AT/RT‐TYR

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Claudin‐6 has emerged as a promising immunotherapeutic target, yet protein‐level data in atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RTs) have been inconsistent. We analyzed 36 well‐characterized AT/RT samples and found membranous claudin‐6 protein expression in 58% of cases, with striking enrichment in the molecular subgroup AT/RT‐TYR (100%) and ...

The No Alternatives Argument [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Scientific theories are hard to find, and once scientists have found a theory H, they often believe that there are not many distinct alternatives to H. But is this belief justified?
