Climate change has rapidly expanded and shifted suitable climate conditions for eight major forest pests across North America, especially toward northern and higher elevation areas. Host exposure and overlap among pests are increasing, raising ecological and economic risks, and signaling accelerating future impacts under continued warming.

Altitudinal gradients of tree species diversity and above-ground biomass on a small montane of Atlantic Central Africa [PDF]
Tropical forests are both important carbon sinks and among the most biodiverse ecosystems on the earth. Patterns in aboveground biomass (AGB) and their relationship with species diversity of tropical forests over short altitudinal gradients are poorly ...

“Lake macroinvertebrates and the altitudinal gradient in the Pyrenees [Los macroinvertebrados lacustres y el gradiente altitudinal en los Pirineos]” is a thesis about freshwater macroinvertebrate communities inhabitting the littoral zone of the mountain lakes of the Pyrenees, and about the effect of altitude on the species composition, and richness, of

Plant species richness was greater in summer in both alpine and subalpine grassland ecosystems. Soil moisture demonstrates significant positive correlations with soil organic carbon and total nitrogen across seasonal periods. Microbial α‐diversity peaks during summer but maintains functional stability across seasons.

Understanding pre‐eclampsia and fetal growth restriction at high altitude: A narrative review
Abstract Pre‐eclampsia (PE) and fetal growth restriction (FGR) are among the leading causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Both conditions are more frequent and severe at high altitudes due to physiological changes in oxygen availability and vascular adaptation.

The role of the gut microbiome in the regulation of high‐altitude adaptation
This study is the first to elucidate mechanisms of high‐altitude adaptation from the perspective of the rumen ecosystem by using indigenous yaks and Holstein cows that have lived at high altitude since birth as comparative models. Through a systematic comparison of their rumen ecology using multi‐omics approaches—including rumen metagenomics ...

This research reveals the functional stability of mixed species foraging flocks (MSF) and their foraging height change with different taxonomic differences along the elevational gradient at Knuckles Montane Reserve, Sri Lanka. This offers new insights into how MSFs sustain with the elevational gradients supporting the altitudinal shifting species ...

Mechanisms, materials, structures, and applications of the FIPSs. Abstract Flexible ionic pressure sensors (FIPS) have emerged as promising candidates for bridging the gap between electronics and biologically compatible interfaces. Unlike previous reviews, which focused primarily on materials or devices, this review presents a classification of FIPS ...
