Wear behaviour of an aluminium matrix composite

ABSTRACTThe wear behaviour of a composite material consisting in AS12UNG alloy reinforced with 15% short fibres of alumina has been studied. The material composition and the wear test conditions were defined in order to evaluate the potential performance of automotive pistons produced with such composite composition.
