Influence of small aluminum substitutions on the hematite lattice
Physics Letters A, 1985Abstract The effect of small Al substitutions (up to 8 mole%) in hematite, αFe 2 O 3 , is determined from the 57 Fe isomer shifts measured by the Mossbauer effect. Using the Debye approximation, the characteristic Mossbauer temperatures and the intrinsic isomer shifts are evaluated. Both parameters show a distinct maximum at 4 mole% Al substitution.

Gallium and Chromium Substitution for Aluminum in Synthesized Beidellite
Clays and Clay Minerals, 1998AbstractThe hydrothermal synthesis of Mg-beidellite in which limited amounts of Ga and Cr are clearly shown to be incorporated into nonexchangeable positions in the clay layer framework is reported for the first time. Elemental analyses indicate that, up to at least 15 mole percent, Ga can replace Al virtually completely; Cr incorporation is more ...

Photosensitized Oxidation of Substituted Phenols on Aluminum Phthalocyanine-Intercalated Organoclay
Environmental Science & Technology, 2004Bentonite modified with cationic surfactant, cetyltri-methylammonium bromide (CTMA), was an effective sorbent for organic pollutants in water. To make the sorbent recyclable, aluminum phthalocyanine (AIPc), a representative photosensitizer for generation of singlet oxygen, was inserted successfully into the interlamellar space of CTMA-modified ...

SOLUTION OF ALUMINUM CITRATE AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR SOLUTION OF ALUMINUM ACETATE N. F.
Archives of Dermatology, 1942Solution of aluminum acetate N. F. (Burow's solution) is a clear, colorless, weakly acid liquid with a faintly acetous odor and a sweetish, astringent taste. It contains in each 100 cc. not less than 4.8 Gm. and not more than 5.8 Gm. of aluminum acetate.

Mechanism of ligand substitution in aluminum(III) complexes
Inorganic Chemistry, 1989Rate constant and activation parameter values have been determined for the ligand substitution reactions of Al(H 2 O) 6 3+ and Al(H 2 O) 5 OH 2+ with F − . By monitoring the reactions with a fluoride ion selective electrode, we were able to determine overall rate constant values for these two reactions, and the Fuoss equation was then used to ...

Silicon Substitution for Aluminum in Calcium Silicate Hydrates
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 199927 Al MAS and multiquantum (MQ) MASNMR (magic‐angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy were used to study the substitution of silicon by aluminum in calcium silicate hydrates (C‐S‐H), which are the main component of hydrated portland cement.

Thermal properties of MoSi2 with minor aluminum substitutions
Intermetallics, 2007Abstract Mo(Si 1− x Al x ) 2 compositions ( x = 0–0.1) have been prepared by a modified SHS route under uniaxial hydrostatic pressure. Oxidation studies carried out by thermal analysis and sheet resistivity indicate an improvement in the low temperature (700–900 K) oxidation resistance with increasing aluminum addition. Dilatometric results show

Influence of Aluminum Substitution on the Reactivity of Magnetite Nanoparticles
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2007Magnetite is an iron oxide that commonly forms in soils under reducing conditions. It is an important material in natural and engineered remediation systems because it can affect the reductive degradation of environmental toxins such as halogenated hydrocarbons.

Structural and Magnetic Properties of Copper-Substituted Manganese-Aluminum Alloys
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1962Magnetic and structural properties of the tetragonal phase of ternary Cu (0–12.5 at%)–Mn(55–42.5 at%)–Al(45 at%) alloy have been studied in relation to binary 45Al-Mn alloy. The substitution of Cu to Mn-Al alloy reduces the tetragonality c/a of the tetragonal phase from 1.30 of the 45Al-Mn to 1.20 of the 10 at% Cu alloy, and then changes the ...
