Histologic Diagnosis of Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis

Twenty-seven patients with open-lung biopsy findings consistent with extrinsic allergic alveolitis (hypersensitivity pneumonitis) were studied. In only one case had the diagnosis been considered prior to the biopsy.
