Role of COVID-19 in the Progression of Scleroderma Interstitial Lung Disease and New Onset Pulmonary Hypertension: A Challenging Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesRespirol Case Rep
This report describes a woman with SSc and mild interstitial lung disease who developed COVID‐19 pneumonia, leading to rapid ILD progression and new onset pulmonary hypertension, ultimately resulting in fatal pneumococcal infection. The case underscores the critical role of multidisciplinary care and timely vaccination in managing high‐risk SSc ...

The association of mitochondrial morphology and supercomplex redistribution with skeletal muscle oxidative capacity in older adults. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysiol Rep
ATPmax is positively associated with mitochondrial elongation and the redistribution of electron transport chain complexes into higher‐order supercomplex assemblies in the skeletal muscle of elderly volunteers, both before and after a 4‐month supervised exercise intervention.

Discrete Heterotrimetallic Assemblies Based on Rod-Shaped FeII-Metalloligands and a ZnII-Porphyrin/RuII-Metallacycle. [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry
Modular self‐assembly of extendable porphyrin‐based heterotrimetallic discrete architectures: a new efficient strategy toward the construction of stable multicomponent functional systems. Abstract An efficient strategy for the preparation of heterometallic discrete porphyrin assemblies, tuned both in dimensions and number of metal centers, is described.

Cutaneous epitheliotropic T-cell lymphoma in a sugar glider (Petaurus breviceps). [PDF]

open access: yesVet Dermatol
A 3‐year‐old male sugar glider presented with pruritus and alopecia primarily affecting the back and neck regions. Dermatologic diagnostics ruled out common causes. Skin biopsies revealed cutaneous epitheliotropic T‐cell lymphoma, a rare condition in sugar gliders. Despite treatment, the glider's condition worsened, leading to death.

Stradivari harp tree-ring data

open access: yesData in Brief, 2022
Three tree ring sequences were collected on the soundboard of the Stradivari harp. Due to the presence of the strings in the centre of the harp soundboard, the sampling of the tree ring widths was focused separately on the right side (RX), the central ...

On Black Hole Creation in Planckian Energy Scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
In a series of papers Amati, Ciafaloni and Veneziano and 't Hooft conjectured that black holes occur in the collision of two light particles at planckian energies.

Exercise Testing in Individuals With Diabetes, Practical Considerations for Exercise Physiologists

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
Exercise and sports activities are crucial for individuals with diabetes. Diabetic patients are often referred to sports clinics for cardiopulmonary exercise testing to evaluate physical capacity, exercise-related symptoms, or to obtain medical clearance.

Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis as a Complication of Recombinant Granulocyte Colony-Stimulating Factor Therapy in a Heart Transplant Patient

open access: yesCase Reports in Transplantation, 2014
Recombinant granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (rG-CSF) is a myeloid growth factor that is widely used in haematology to recover neutropenia secondary to myelosuppressive chemotherapy.

Update on the GRB universal scaling E$_{\rm{X,iso}}$-E$_{\rm{\gamma,iso}}$-E$_{\rm{pk}}$ with ten years of $Swift$ data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
From a comprehensive statistical analysis of $Swift$ X-ray light-curves of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) collected from December 2004 to the end of 2010, we found a three-parameter correlation between the isotropic energy emitted in the rest frame 1-10$^4$ keV

INVESTIGATING THE Ep, iEiso CORRELATION

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2013
The correlation between the spectral peak photon energy, Ep, and the radiated energy or luminosity (i.e., the “Amati relation” and other correlations derived from it) is one of the central and most debated topics in GRB astrophysics, with implications ...
