Continuous Local Symmetry in Ising-type Models

open access: yes, 1994
A class of generalized Ising models is examined with a view to extracting a low energy sector comprising Dirac fermions coupled to Yang-Mills vectors. The main feature of this approach is a set of gap equations, covariant with respect to one of the $4$-

Detailed Classification of Swift's Gamma-Ray Bursts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Earlier classification analyses found three types of gamma-ray bursts (short, long and intermediate in duration) in the BATSE sample. Recent works have shown that these three groups are also present in the RHESSI and the BeppoSAX databases.

Color as A Narrative Device in Illustration: A Systematic Review

open access: yesColor Research &Application, Volume 51, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Color in picture book illustration operates simultaneously as a representational code, cognitive scaffold, and affective cue supporting theories such as Dual Coding and multimodal discourse while revealing gaps in methodology and cross‐cultural research.

How Classmates Experience Visiting Their Hospitalised Peer During Cancer Treatment: A RESPECT Study

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, Volume 82, Issue 2, Page 1667-1680, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To explore how classmate ‘ambassadors’ experienced and engaged in social interaction while visiting a hospitalised peer undergoing cancer treatment. Design A phenomenological‐hermeneutic inspired exploratory study. Methods Using on‐the‐go semi‐structured interviews and participant observations from January to December 2023 in Denmark, we ...

Le prime attrici della compagnia Reale Sarda nel database AMAtI

open access: yesDrammaturgia, 2016
The section is dedicated to the profiles of three important actresses active in the first half of the 19th century: Carlotta Marchionni (1796-1861), Amalia Bettini (1809-1894), Antonietta Robotti (1817-1864).

Extremely energetic Fermi Gamma-Ray Bursts obey spectral energy correlations

open access: yes, 2009
The extremely energetic Fermi GRBs 080916C, with its Eiso of ~ 10^{55} erg in 1 keV - 10 GeV and intense GeV emission, and 090323 give us a unique opportunity to test the reliability and extension of spectral energy correlations.

A Decision Support Tool Using an Open‐Source Methodology for Identifying Woody Encroachment and Juniper Species Vulnerability in the Chickasaw Nation, Oklahoma, USA

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
First American peoples have relied on cultural burning to manage their lands and sustain healthy ecosystems, but modern agricultural practices and fire suppression have led to widespread juniper tree infestation in areas like Oklahoma. In response, the Chickasaw Nation developed an open‐source methodology, model and resulting decision‐support tool to ...

The GRBs Hubble diagram in quintessential cosmological models

open access: yes, 2010
It has been recently empirically established that some of the directly observed pa- rameters of GRBs are correlated with their important intrinsic parameters, like the luminosity or the total radiated energy.

Mendelian Randomization Mediation Analysis Reveals the Impact of Dietary Preferences on Preeclampsia and Fetal Growth Restriction via Immune Modulation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
Wang et al. showed that specific dietary preferences influence the risk of preeclampsia (PE) and fetal growth restriction (FGR) via immune modulation. Genetic analyses revealed that chili pepper consumption lowers PE risk partly through HLA‐DR+ CD8+ T cells, while hard cheese intake reduces FGR risk via IgD+ CD24+ B cells.

Gamma-Ray Bursts and Dark Energy - Dark Matter interaction

open access: yes, 2010
In this work Gamma Ray Burst (GRB) data is used to place constraints on a putative coupling between dark energy and dark matter. Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) constraints from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey II (SDSS-II) first-year results, the cosmic ...
