Is Capsaicin Effective in Relieving the Symptoms of Burning Mouth Syndrome? A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
The capsaicin, administered topically or systemically, reduces pain symptoms in patients with Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS). However, despite consistent clinical improvement, the current evidence is limited and of low certainty, highlighting the need for well‐designed studies to confirm its effectiveness. ABSTRACT Background Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS)

Diet‐Related Differences Predominate Over Breed‐Associated Differences in Hepatic Lipid Metabolism, Antioxidant Vitamins and Lipid Quality Indices Among Beef Cattle

open access: yesJournal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Understanding how nutritional management and genetic background influence hepatic metabolism is important for improving the nutritional quality of bovine products in tropical production systems. This study evaluated breed‐associated differences under a common dietary regimen and diet‐related differences within the Nelore breed with respect to ...

Going silent? Evidence for independent losses of acoustic communication in tree crickets (Insecta, Orthoptera, Grylloidea, Oecanthidae)

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, EarlyView.
Our ancestral state reconstruction in tree crickets reveals multiple independent and irreversible losses of sound‐producing and ‐receiving structures, supporting the convergent evolution of the silent phenotype. We demonstrate strong evolutionary integration between forewings and tympana, although the discovery of ‘silent listeners′ and ‘deaf singers ...

Molecular phylogenetic analysis sheds light on the diversity and evolutionary history of the Neotropical and African Triplophyllum (Tectariaceae)

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, EarlyView.
We used a molecular approach to resolve the evolutionary lineages of Neotropical Triplophyllum, uncovering that current species circumscriptions are hindered by high morphological homoplasy in indument characters. Our results support the recognition of three new species and provide a necessary neotypification for T.
