Uma ampla variedade de doencas neoplasicas e vista em especies de aves de estimacao, sendo que frequentemente se apresentam como massas ou lesoes que ocupam espaco, tendo suas aparencias variadas e, com isso, devem ser diferenciadas. Neoplasias de origem musculares sao raras em especies de aves domesticas ou de vida livre.

Abstract T‐cell lymphoma was diagnosed in a mature blue‐fronted Amazon parrot (Amazona aestiva) and a mature grey parrot (Psittacus erithacus). The Amazon parrot was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma in the neck and T‐cell hepatic lymphoma. The sarcoma was surgically removed, but chemotherapy for the lymphoma was declined by the owner.

In this work the authors refer first to the high incidence of Hipovitaminosis A on parrots (Amazonas aestiva aestiva) living incages. Of 121 birds examinated by them during the period 1957-1961, 34,7% evidenced the Hipovitaminosis A. They present the symptomatology of this disease on parrots.
