Ambient noise tomography of the Aegean region of Türkiye from Rayleigh wave group velocity

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2023
We have studied Rayleigh wave group velocities beneath the Aegean region of Türkiye using ambient noise tomography. Noise data were gathered from 43 broadband seismic stations belonging to three permanent broad-band arrays.

High‐Resolution Corrosion Fingerprinting of Alloy Libraries via Microdroplet Spectroelectrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic‐liquid microdroplet spectroelectrochemistry enables stable, localized electrochemical measurements over extended timescales. By coupling impedance spectroscopy, wetting analysis, finite‐element simulations, and operando Raman spectroscopy, it disentangles geometrical and electrochemical effects, opening new opportunities for rapid corrosion ...

Uncertainty-quantified 3D ambient noise tomography using transdimensional Monte Carlo inversion

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Traditional two-step surface-wave tomography often yields discontinuous models and compound uncertainty. We present the first fully 3-D transdimensional Bayesian inversion with adaptive Voronoi parameterization and reversible-jump MCMC for near-surface ...

Uniform Amorphization of Crystalline Silicon Surfaces Enabled by Deep Ultraviolet Femtosecond Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Deep‐UV (258 nm) femtosecond pulses enable uniform amorphous silicon writing on Si(100)/(111) with a six‐fold larger fluence amorphization window than NIR methods. Optimized fluence and overlap yield 20–45 nm uniform and continuous amorphous layers. Microscopy shows sharp interfaces, and real‐time reflectivity reveals nanosecond melt–resolidification ...

Using Ocean Ambient Sound to Measure Local Integrated Deep Ocean Temperature

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Measuring the temperature changes of the deep ocean will be critical to understanding how the earth system will respond to climate change. In this work, we present a method for measuring the depth‐averaged, deep ocean temperature at local (∼3 km) spatial

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Oxygen‐Tunnel Indium Tin Oxide Vertical Channel Transistors with Enhanced Current Density and Reliability for Monolithic 3D Compute‐In‐Memory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxygen‐tunnel (OT) indium tin oxide (ITO) vertical channel transistors (VCTs) enable reliable, high‐density gain‐cell memory for monolithic 3D integration. A sandwiched SiN/SiO2/SiN OT stack selectively regulates oxygen transport, suppressing parasitic electrode oxidation while stabilizing channel oxygen vacancies, thereby suppressing carrier injection

Crustal structure across the eastern North American margin from ambient noise tomography

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2017
Passive tectonic margins, like the eastern North American margin (ENAM), represent the meeting of oceanic and continental material where no active deformation is occurring.

Amphibious Shear Wave Structure Beneath the Alaska‐Aleutian Subduction Zone From Ambient Noise Tomography

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2021
I present a 3‐D isotropic shear wave velocity model of the crust and uppermost mantle beneath the Alaska‐Aleutian subduction zone offshore of the Alaska Peninsula, based on seismic data recorded by the Alaska Amphibious Community Seismic Experiment ...

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.
