Shear-Wave Tomography Using Ocean Ambient Noise with Interference
Ambient noise carries abundant subsurface structure information and attracts ever-increasing attention in the past decades. However, there are lots of interference factors in the ambient noise in the real world, making the noise difficult to be utilized ...

AMBIENT SEISMIC NOISE FOOTPRINTS AND SPECTRA IN THE MIDDLE BENUE TROUGH, NIGERIA
Ambient noise was analysed from a two-dimensional (2D) seismic data acquired in the Middle Benue Trough, Nigeria for the purpose of characterizing the ambient seismic noise.

On the Green's function emergence from interferometry of seismic wave fields generated in high-melt glaciers: implications for passive imaging and monitoring [PDF]
Ambient noise seismology has revolutionized seismic characterization of the Earth's crust from local to global scales. The estimate of Green's function (GF) between two receivers, representing the impulse response of elastic media, can be reconstructed ...

Rainfall-induced variations in pore water pressures are the most common sources of significant disasters like landslides, dams’ failure, and other structural collapses. This study aimed at communicating preliminary results of seasonal monitoring of the Sobradinho landslide, Brasilia, Brazil, using ambient seismic noise.

A novel horizontal to vertical spectral ratio approach in a wired structural health monitoring system [PDF]
This work studies the effect ambient seismic noise can have on building constructions, in comparison with the traditional study of strong seismic motion in buildings, for the purpose of structural health monitoring. Traditionally, engineers have observed

Single‐station monitoring of volcanoes using seismic ambient noise [PDF]
AbstractSeismic ambient noise cross correlation is increasingly used to monitor volcanic activity. However, this method is usually limited to volcanoes equipped with large and dense networks of broadband stations. The single‐station approach may provide a powerful and reliable alternative to the classical “cross‐station” approach when measuring ...

Synchronizing seismic networks with ambient noise [PDF]
SUMMARY The technique of retrieving Green’s functions by pairwise correlation of a random wavefield is used to estimate the stability of the timing system of a seismic network. The method is demonstrated with data from a network consisting of stations with four independent clocks and GPS-receivers.

Submarine permafrost depth from ambient seismic noise [PDF]
AbstractPermafrost inundated since the last glacial maximum is degrading, potentially releasing trapped or stabilized greenhouse gases, but few observations of the depth of ice‐bonded permafrost (IBP) below the seafloor exist for most of the arctic continental shelf.
