Ambiguity resolution and the retrieval of idioms [PDF]
When an idiomatic expression is encountered during natural language processing, the ambiguity between its idiomatic and non-idiomatic meaning has to be resolved. Rather than including both meanings in further processing, a conventionality-principle could be applied. This results in best-first processing of the idiomatic analysis.

SUCCESS RATES FOR INTEGRATED GPS AND GALILEO AMBIGUITY RESOLUTION [PDF]
Modernized GPS and the future European Galileo system will offer unprecedented accuracy and availability for precise positioning applications. For these applications, the ambiguities of the carrier observations have to be resolved to their integer values.

Resolving depth measurement ambiguity with commercially available range imaging cameras
Time-of-flight range imaging is typically performed with the amplitude modulated continuous wave method. This involves illuminating a scene with amplitude modulated light.

Eponymous verb phrases and ambiguity resolution [PDF]
To understand eponymous verb phrases such as "do a John Travolta," readers cannot merely select a sense out of a mental lexicon (sense selection). They must create new senses (sense creation) by retrieving salient information from memory. We conducted two experiments to test the hypothesis that these processes of memory retrieval parallel those used ...

Fourier Ambiguity Resolution for Carrier-Phase GNSS
In this contribution, we introduce the concept of Fourier ambiguity resolution. We show how it is rooted in the principle of integer equivariant (IE) estimation and in its periodic representation.

Chronometric studies of lexical ambiguity resolution [PDF]
Languages such as English contain a large number of words with multiple meanings. These words are commonly termed "lexlcal ambiguities", although it is probably more accurate to speak of them as potentially ambiguous. Determining how the contextually appropriate reading of a word is identified presents an important and unavoidable problem for persons ...

Ranking-based neural network for ambiguity resolution in ACTS [PDF]
The reconstruction of particle trajectories is a key challenge of particle physics experiments, as it directly impacts particle identification and physics performances while also representing one of the main CPU consumers of many high-energy physics ...

Single-Differenced Ambiguity Resolution for Orbit Determination of the Haiyang-2B
In ambiguity resolution, the Hatch–Melbourne–Wübbena code and carrier phase combination is usually used to fix the wide-lane (WL) ambiguity, and thus, the quality of the code observations directly affects the fixing success rate ...

Eye Movements in English Lexical Ambiguity Resolution
English Language ambiguity has always been one of the major concerns of psycholinguistic research. A number of studies have been carried out to investigate different types of ambiguity resolution, including phonological ambiguity resolution, lexical ...
