A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

An Ultra-fast DOA Estimator with Circular Array Interferometer Using Lookup Table Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The time-consuming phase ambiguity resolution makes the uniform circular array (UCA) interferometer not suitable for real-time direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation. This paper introduces the lookup table (LUT) method to solve this problem.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

The Performance of Three-Frequency GPS PPP-RTK with Partial Ambiguity Resolution

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2022
The correct ambiguity resolution of real-time kinematic precise point positioning (PPP-RTK) plays an essential role in achieving fast, reliable, and high-precision positioning.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Ranking-based neural network for ambiguity resolution in ACTS [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
The reconstruction of particle trajectories is a key challenge of particle physics experiments, as it directly impacts particle identification and physics performances while also representing one of the main CPU consumers of many high-energy physics ...

Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...

Using a Probabilistic Class-Based Lexicon for Lexical Ambiguity Resolution

open access: yes, 2000
This paper presents the use of probabilistic class-based lexica for disambiguation in target-word selection. Our method employs minimal but precise contextual information for disambiguation. That is, only information provided by the target-verb, enriched

Predicting Epileptogenic Tubers in Patients With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Using a Fusion Model Integrating Lesion Network Mapping and Machine Learning

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.
